PRIZE : Nominations are open for the Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity (5th Edition)
The Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity is currently accepting nominations in order to benefit those suffering from the most severe effects of climate change and to help scale up climate solutions.
Recognising people and institutions spearheading society's efforts to address the single greatest threat to humanity today—climate change—is the Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity. Inspiring optimism and promise, it honours exceptional contributions to climate action and solutions.
When it comes to combating climate change, the Prize for Humanity makes significant progress possible. The Foundation has given €4 million to various strategies for combating climate change since its founding. The prize money is being utilised to help those who are most affected by climate change. Examples of this support include sponsoring female-led initiatives to restore mangroves in Cameroon, aiding grassroots organisations in Brazil, and providing aid to flood victims in Bangladesh and India. Along with aiding cities in making the transition to a greener economy, the Prize financing is expanding the efforts of organisations that draw attention to the dangers posed by biodiversity loss and climate change.
The Prize seeks to support local communities that are experiencing the effects of climate change by assisting them in adapting and enhancing their resilience. It backs scalable solutions with significant national and international effects.
