A one-year paid apprenticeship at 100% working rate at the ICRC headquarters in Geneva, starting in mid-July/early August 2024, is being offered by the Department of Support and Digital Transformation (SDT) of the ICRC.

The role's objective

Leading the Support and Digital development department, this is an exciting role at the centre of ICRC's digital development. The trainee/associate will work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, collaborating with the SDT Senior Change Advisor, to develop, organise, and implement communication and engagement optimisation strategies that will enhance SDT's brand and promote its value propositions. This will also help to build a cooperative, inclusive engagement culture that prioritises customer and user centricity.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works to safeguard victims of armed conflict and to offer humanitarian aid to those in need all over the world. In addition to promoting adherence to international humanitarian law, we respond to situations by taking action. Our mandate, as an impartial and autonomous organisation, primarily originates from the 1949 Geneva Conventions. In order to guarantee a coordinated, logical, and prompt humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other scenario of internal violence, we collaborate closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies as well as with their International Federation. In these circumstances, we oversee and manage the foreign actions that are carried out.

A cohesive, user-centric, effective, and efficient system of capabilities (Data & Digital Transformation, Technology & Information, Logistics, and Global Shared Services) is developed and optimised by the Support & Digital Transformation department, enabling the delivery of outcomes for impacted individuals while maintaining business continuity. It powers the ICRC's digital transformation by enhancing our digital services, responsiveness, and interaction with impacted individuals and their communities.

Assignments and Accountabilities

• Develop, design, build, and manage a central internal community page that facilitates interactive participation with the target audience, SDT value development and proposition, and easy access to other divisions.
• Organise and oversee material on SDT's internal platforms to encourage interaction.
• Create content for intranet sections, newsletters, infographics, presentations, videos, and other forms of internal communication. Write, design, and edit while consulting subject matter experts to ensure correctness.
