Funded to Germany : Check out the Visiting Scholars Program at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (RCC)
Do you want to visit the Rachel Carson Centre for Environment and Society (RCC) in Germany for research purposes? If you are a doctorate student, postdoc, or senior scholar, this is a fantastic chance for you.
For research stays, the RCC extends invitations to postdocs, doctorate students, and senior experts. The programme provides participation in events and workshops, access to a rich library of resources, and a lively scholarly community.
Please take note of the following guidelines if you would like to join us as a visiting researcher or visiting doctoral student:
We demand a minimum three-month stay in order to establish an official relationship (including assistance with visas, etc.).
Guests that remain for one to three months are referred to as "RCC Guests." All events are open to RCC guests, who are also invited to internal listservs. They can also use the hot desk area that is connected to our library. For these brief trips, we are unable to offer official affiliations or letters of invitation. Those who remain with us for a minimum of two months will be given preference in the selection process.
Arrivals can only be accepted at the start of each month. Every month on the first Thursday (barring holidays), mandatory onboarding will take place.
Owing to capacity constraints, we kindly request that visiting scholars and visiting PhD students apply by one of the following dates, at least three months in advance: January 8, April 1, July 1, or October 1. Quarterly decisions are decided upon soon after the deadlines.
Additional Information
access to our varied community of environmental and social science scholars; the opportunity to participate in our programmes, such as the biweekly Works-in-Progress meeting (during the semester at the university), the weekly Lunchtime Colloquium, Tuesday Discussion, and workshops held at the Rachel Carson Centre;
entry to one of the largest environmental and social library collections in Europe, as well as invitation and visa letters (if needed) and hot desk space within our library.
