PAID INTERNSHIPS :Apply for the UNDP Internship Programme
Individuals can contribute to global development initiatives through the UNDP Internship Programme, which provides beneficial opportunities. Interns can meaningfully contribute to sustainable development and inclusive growth with a focus on knowledge management, small island developing states (SIDS), and landlocked developing countries (LLDCs).
Context
In order to ensure macro-micro policy linkages of UNDP's work on sustainable development, BPPS is leading collaborative processes of policy development, applied research, and programmes for Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States. The 32 LLDCs and 39 SIDS, each with particular development challenges, will be covered in the work. This includes working with teams from UNDP's Regional Hubs, COs, and Global Policy Centres to develop substantive approaches, products, and tools to support policy and programming services to UNDP Country Offices. In particular, this involves following up on the Vienna Programme of Action for LLDCs and the Samoa Pathway for SIDS.
In addition, in close coordination with the Regional Bureaux and BERA, BPPS will oversee interactions with Permanent Missions to spread the word about UNDP's policy and programmatic offers, assess interest, and develop strategic alliances among Member States.
2024 marks the conclusion of both the Vienna Action Plan for LLDCs (2014–2024) and the Samoa Pathway for SIDS (2014–2024). The process of developing the new 10-year action plans for LLDCS and SIDS has already commenced. The SIDS4 conference in Antigua and Barbuda (May 2024) and the LLDC3 conference in Rwanda (June 2024) will serve as their culminations.
