GRANTS: Apply for the Kofi Annan Award for Innovation in Africa 2024 (up to 250,000 EUR is available)
The Austrian Federal Chancellery, in collaboration with the Kofi Annan Foundation, invites entrepreneurial startups with proven business models and demonstrated social impact to submit their business plans.
The aim is to scale their impact in Africa, supported by the Austrian Development Agency and the WFP Innovation Accelerator.
The Kofi Annan Award for Innovation in Africa, now in its second edition, focuses on identifying and supporting innovative solutions that enhance food security and resilience in African food systems, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 2, Zero Hunger.
The 2023 award specifically seeks technology-powered solutions addressing priorities like the inclusion of marginalized groups, enhanced nutrition for women, and circular solutions to reduce post-harvest losses. Social entrepreneurs with digital or technology-driven solutions can apply, and the selected teams at the Innovation Bootcamp stand a chance to receive a grant of €250,000 from the Austrian Development Agency after pitching to a high-level jury.
The initiative aims to honor Kofi Annan's legacy and contribute to a more just and equitable world.
