Applications are open for the role of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager at Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) South Africa .

Ensuring that efficient monitoring and evaluation methods, procedures, strategies, and instruments are integrated into every facet of WWF South Africa's programmatic activities is the responsibility of the MEL function.

Leading a community of practise that is supportive, encouraging a culture of learning, and making sure that WWF South Africa's strategy is influenced by international best practises are the duties of the MEL Manager at WWF South Africa. Leading a dynamic MEL support staff, creating MEL frameworks, and consistently enhancing data gathering, analysis, and communication methods and procedures are all part of this function.

The Role 

The WWF Impact Lead and the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Manager will work together to develop and execute the WWF Monitoring and Evaluation Framework. They will determine the requirements of partners for capacity development and offer M&E support. The MEL Manager will code WWF data into the MEL database and assist with data synthesis, analysis, and reporting. They will plan quarterly reporting, link partner reports to the overall evaluation of WWF performance and outcomes, organise yearly learning workshops, and promptly supply information to WWF portfolios.

Accountabilities and Obligations

Leading the WWF Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning framework's implementation, assisting partners with training and capacity building, and evaluating partner reports are all part of the job description. In addition, the person prepares reports and articles, visits fields, performs assessments, and makes sure that MEL results are routinely reviewed and taken into account when making decisions about the programme. They coordinate data coordination and reporting to the WWF network, uphold professional and ethical standards, and guarantee adherence to the ESSF.

Eligibility Criteria
- The optimal applicant will possess a postgraduate degree in environmental conservation or rural development, as well as experience in staff management, training workshops, socio-economic analysis, research design, data management, GIS systems, monitoring and evaluation techniques, and at least five years of monitoring and evaluating nature conservation programmes.

In addition, they should speak English and one other South African language well, produce good technical reports, and be able to explain difficult ideas to a wide range of stakeholders. They should also be exceptionally good at managing their time, interacting with others, communicating, and collaborating with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
