With a monthly salary, stipend & paid travel expenses to London : Apply for the Durham University Sir Harry Evans Global Fellowship 2025
An extraordinary chance for a budding journalist is offered by the Sir Harry Evans Global Fellowship, which is a nine-month fellowship with Durham University and Reuters to conduct an investigative project. The Fellow will gain access to Durham's academic community and research resources, be mentored by prominent Reuters editors, and have the chance to hone their fact-based, rigorous research and reporting abilities.
The Fellow, with extra assistance from colleagues at Durham's Institute of Advanced Studies, will work on the project from within a Reuters newsroom in London, New York, or Toronto. The Fellow will share their insights from the Fellowship and advance the University's understanding of journalism in a public session at the IAS. Waylon Cunningham, the first Sir Harry Evans Fellow, was a member of a Reuters investigative team that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in 2024.
Durham University would reimburse the successful candidate's present employer up to a maximum of £12,000 for temporary staff costs in cases where the applicant is an employee of a news or media company and takes a leave of absence to pursue the Fellowship, subject to certain restrictions and limitations.
Applications for the Sir Harry Evans Fellowship are accepted from any eligible individual, wherever they may be at the moment. This is a worldwide opportunity. Members of underrepresented groups in journalism are encouraged to apply.
Given that you will be working in an English-speaking workplace, your application should be submitted in that language. Applications submitted on Monday, July 15, 2024, after 2:00 PM BST will not be taken into consideration.
