PAID FELLOWSHIP: Conservationists are invited to apply for the Kinship Conservation Fellowship 2024 (Upto 8000 USD per month)

The Kinship Conservation Fellowship is a global initiative that empowers conservation professionals by enhancing their skills and knowledge to drive their home projects forward. This intensive month-long in-residence program, taking place from June 30 to July 30, 2024, at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA, focuses on market-based solutions in conservation and cultivates leadership capabilities.

Led by a faculty of renowned experts, the program's curriculum is tailored to each year's cohort, introducing Fellows to the six Kinship Conservation Pillars for market-based solutions:

- Leading Adaptively
- Iterating for Scale
- Designing for Governing the Commons
- Identifying an Economic Engine
- Financing Conservation
- Evaluating for Impact

The program not only offers classroom training but also includes field trips to explore real-world conservation issues, such as sustainable forestry and fishing practices. Additionally, Fellows have ample opportunities to connect with their peers, faculty, and Kinship Foundation staff during meal nights, fostering lifelong friendships and a sense of community.

As alumni of the program, Kinship Fellows become part of a global network of conservation leaders, with 332 Fellows spanning 66 countries on 7 continents. This network provides ongoing support, enabling Fellows to collaborate, share knowledge, and access mentorship, funding opportunities, and professional development.

For participating in the Fellowship in Bellingham, WA, Fellows receive a stipend of US$8000, after customary U.S. tax withholding. Fellows are responsible for their local, state, and federal tax obligations related to the stipend. Non-U.S. citizens will also have customary U.S. tax withholding applied (currently at 30%), resulting in a net payment of approximately $5600, subject to adjustments based on prevailing U.S. tax laws.
