A fellowship programme has been established by TWAS and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) for international scholars from developing countries in the South who want to work towards a PhD in a natural science or related applied science in the departments and labs of Türkiye's public and private universities as well as TÜBİTAK Research Centres and Institutes.

For international scholars from developing nations in the South who want to work towards a Ph.D. in a natural or related applied science in departments and labs of public and private universities in Türkiye as well as TÜBİTAK Research Centres and Institutes, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) and TWAS have established a fellowship programme.

The application, assessment, and execution of a fellowship programme for PhD candidates from developing nations are described in full in the 2216B TUBITAK TWAS_2023 Call for Applications. The fellowships are valid for six to twelve months at Turkish public and private universities. Agricultural sciences, structural, molecular, and cell biology, biological systems and organisms, medical and health sciences, chemistry, engineering, astronomy, space and earth science, mathematics, physics, computing, and information technology are among the subjects that qualify. Travel assistance, costs associated with obtaining a visa, and a monthly stipend for living expenses and lodging are all covered by TWAS. Host institutes ought to waive or pay for study fees.
