FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the 2024 Paul Celan Fellowship

Conducted by the esteemed Institute for Human Sciences (IWM), the Paul Celan Fellowship for Translators 2024 is a distinguished programme. In the humanities, social sciences, and cultural studies, the programme seeks to close gaps in history and promote the translation of important modern works as well as canonical books.

The S Fischer Foundation, an honoured partner of the IWM, is working with the latter to create a distinctive element for the cultural tapestry. 2003 saw the founding of the S Fischer Foundation by German publisher Monika Schoeller. As the Paul Celan Fellowship's cooperative partner, the Foundation is essential to the programme.

The foundation, which focuses on literature, has played a key role in advancing global cultural exchange programmes. It's the founding of TRADUKI, a network for books and literature in Europe, showcasing a persistent dedication to promoting intercultural communication.

Program Benefits
- In order to thoroughly immerse themselves in their work, Paul Celan Visiting Fellows are asked to spend three months at the IWM in Vienna. They will receive a monthly stipend of EUR 3,000, fully furnished office space, internet access, and on-site research facilities.

The Paul Celan Fellowship for Translators 2024 is a European program aimed at translating East European authors and female scholars, with application materials available in English.

In order to be considered for the Paul Celan Fellowship for Translators in 2024, candidates will need to send a CV, a project description, a letter of motivation, and any required publisher rights paperwork. One Latin-character PDF file is needed for the application form.
