FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the 2024-25 Peace Scholar Fellowship competition

Do you have a strong passion for security studies, peacebuilding, and conflict management and are a committed PhD candidate? The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) offers the Peace Scholar Fellowship Programme, which is a fantastic chance for you if your academic path fits these areas and you want to have a big influence. This non-residential fellowship provides support to outstanding doctorate candidates working on their dissertations in security studies, peacebuilding, and conflict management. Since its founding in 1988, the programme has supported the academic endeavours of 408 scholars who have gone on to lead illustrious careers in policy-making, research, and higher education.

Through partnership with the Minerva Research Initiative, this programme has the capacity to grant more fellowships. Currently, up to 18 fellowships are awarded annually to support doctorate dissertation research and writing.

Verification of eligibility, contact and personal details, recommendation letters, a bibliography, a curriculum vitae, and optional links to publications are all included in the application.

Program Benefits
Up to eighteen Peace Scholar grants are available from USIP for a ten-month non-residential term. Up to $20,000 in stipends, paid out in three installments, are included in the fellowship. Awards for Peace Scholars cannot be postponed.
Eligibility Criteria
USIP is looking for PhD candidates to carry out research on security studies, peacebuilding, and conflict management that is important to policy. Preference will be given to individuals whose interests are in line with USIP Issue Areas or the Minerva Research Initiative.

Application Procedure
The application procedure for the Peace Scholar Fellowship entails registering with USIP's FLUXX programme, preparing and submitting a full application through FLUXX, and not receiving status updates.
