Concerning the MIT Foundry Fellowship's Legatum Centre:
The Foundry Fellowship, a groundbreaking leadership programme for African-based founders who have developed innovation-driven businesses and find themselves at a turning point in their entrepreneurial path, is offered by the Legatum Centre at MIT. Fellows can consider their experiences as entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders, reevaluate their future leadership responsibilities, and reaffirm their dedication to creating ecosystems driven by innovation and entrepreneurship at The Foundry.
Leaders who have shown a dedication to using entrepreneurship to effect change and who are prepared to develop the leadership abilities necessary to advance to the next stage of their entrepreneurial journeys will come together through the Foundry Fellowship.
With a preference for entrepreneurs working in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, and Uganda, the Fellowship is accessible to African entrepreneurs who have created and grown for-profit, innovation-driven businesses on the continent.
The Foundry Fellowship program requires applicants to commit to personal objectives, the Legatum Center, and the next generation of innovation-driven entrepreneurs across Africa. This includes confirming English language ability, attending all online sessions and in-person meetings, attending ecosystem tours, participating fully in sessions, and presenting the next step after six months of immersion.
The interactive course that fellows will finish is intended to:
Develop their leadership skills; Look into methods to make a difference as investors, thought leaders, legislators, and entrepreneurs; Share real-world experience with MIT staff and students; and Take advantage of multi-stakeholder networking possibilities within the MIT ecosystem.
The educational process will come to a head with a three-week immersion programme that takes place in person, giving Fellows the chance to interact with MIT faculty, investors, thought leaders, and policy influencers. Fellows will get insight into how to develop innovative programmes, put practices into place, and make policies that are applicable to their markets from this all-encompassing experience. Additionally, fellows will have the chance to share their innovative endeavours and lessons learned with MIT staff, faculty, and students.
The deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM ET on June 30, 2024.
