Starting in August 2024, this fellowship will be totally remote and full-time in nature. Together with human rights organisations from Eastern Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, Brazil, India, and Mexico, the fellows will be part of a cohort of digital advocates.
With their own specialised areas of knowledge, technologists and civil society organisations can collaborate with the cohort and each other on a common goal through the fellowship.
The fellowship award, which comes with a fellowship stipend, additional funds, and kind wrap-around assistance from Mozilla, is intended to support the full individual.

possess a minimum of three to five years' experience as seasoned technologists employed in technology-related roles.
reside in the nation or area where the host organisation is located, or possess work authorization there. Keep in mind that organisations have rules unique to their locations.
Recognise the background and pertinent cultural nuances of the host nation. Keep in mind that organisms could have parameters unique to a given language.
Possess a strategic mindset, a collaborative approach, and expertise in recognising challenges and opportunities at the nexus of technology and social justice concerns.
possess the ability to complete fellowship work to a degree that is typically consistent with a full-time commitment. The fellowship can be engaged for a minimum of 1.5 years or a maximum of 2 years.
possess working English fluency.
The goal of this fellowship is to facilitate collaboration between leaders of civil society and technology strategists.
The programme aims to improve the capacity of civil society organisations to solve technology-related societal issues and to raise the impact of the organisations' work by matching technologists [as fellows] with these organisations [as host organisations].
