FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the Community Food Systems Fellowship 2024 in United States
The 2024 Vital Village Networks Community Food Systems Fellowship 2024 is now accepting applications.
In order to encourage community ownership of local food systems, the Community Food Systems Fellowship program's main objective is to support the agency of parents, careers, and families as well as community leadership. Evidence of community-powered food systems will be highlighted by fellows, and the fellowship will increase chances for leadership. At Boston Medical Centre, Vital Village Networks takes a multifaceted approach to creating a culture of health. These techniques are implemented in a way that is effective, strengths-based narratives are uplifted, and leadership and community participation are sustained. A grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) enables the Community Food Systems Fellowship.
They actively work to promote local food systems that are driven by the community and to educate and develop community leadership in these systems. They are dedicated to helping communities of colour exercise their right to self-determination and to the promotion of diverse leaders in the community. To enhance the wellness of children, families, and communities, they invite prospective fellows who are dedicated to justice and equity to apply. They do this by enhancing local food systems. The application process is open to stakeholders who represent a range of perspectives from the food system (public health, early care and education, agriculture, labour and food chain workers, food service, public health, environmental justice, economy and entrepreneurship, education, and immigration, among others).
The programme, which was first introduced by Vital Village Networks (VVN) in 2021, combines participatory co-design concepts with peer learning and capacity building.
