The Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) is an international leadership program designed to support highly accomplished students who have lost one or both parents and are dedicated to returning to sub-Saharan Africa to contribute to the region's ongoing socio-economic development. The AAI offers comprehensive financial support for undergraduate studies at universities abroad, including the UK, France, Japan, the US, and Brazil.

Eligibility requirements for the AAI include:
1. Having lost one or both parents.
2. Citizenship in one of the 49 sub-Saharan countries.
3. A strong academic record with consistent placement in the top 10% of their high school class.
4. Inability to attend university without external financial assistance.
5. Commitment to returning to sub-Saharan Africa and using their professional path to contribute to its socio-economic progress.
6. Having no dependents.
7. Being in good health and capable of studying abroad successfully.
8. Willingness and ability to complete the Ashinaga Preparation Year curriculum during a gap year.

The application process for the AAI consists of two stages:
1. Applicant Registration: Prospective candidates must first confirm their eligibility by registering for the program. Eligible students will receive an email containing a link to the full application form.
2. Application: Eligible registered applicants will be provided with the link to the complete application form.

To complete the Registration form, applicants will need to submit:
1. The official death certificate of the deceased parent or an official government affidavit confirming the loss of one or both parents.
2. Official transcripts from the last three years of high school for students in their third year of high school (including two full years and semester grades if available) or all high school transcripts if they have already graduated from high school.

This Registration form is open until January 19th. You can return to it when you have collected these documents.
