The Zukunftskolleg is pleased to announce a new call for Zukunftskolleg Konnect (ZUKOnnect) Fellowships. The ZUKOnnect Fellowships support early career researchers from Africa, Asia and Latin America related to one of the thirteen departments of the University of Konstanz.

ZUKOnnect Fellowships at the University of Konstanz 2024: Four (post-)doctoral stipends for a maximum of three months (with a four-month justification) of on-campus research stay at the Zukunftskolleg are offered. In addition to the on-site ZUKOnnect Fellowships, there is a digital affiliation that prolongs the programme for a full year.

Since 2021, the foundation “Manfred Ulmer-Stiftung für Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft” at the University of Konstanz supports the ZUKOnnect Fellowship with the Manfred-Ulmer scholarship amounting to 6,000 euros and thus funding one of the four scholarships.

The ZUKOnnect Fellowships aim to strengthen the cultural diversity at the Zukunftskolleg and thereby promote and stimulate the intellectual and integrative discourse amongst our fellows. By broadening our academic horizons to countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, we want to advance intercontinental dialogue in research.

The ZUKOnnect Fellows will team up with Zukunftskolleg Fellows who will assist them with settling into their departments and will support them during their entire research stay. Thus, the ZUKOnnect Fellows will be an integral part of the community at the Zukunftskolleg, regardless of the rather short duration. Zukunftskolleg Fellows likewise will benefit greatly from the intercultural exchange.

Your responsibilities

• You will live in Konstanz or nearby throughout the on-site ZUKOnnect Fellowship (the Welcome Centre at the University of Konstanz will support you with all organizational aspects of relocating to Konstanz).
• During the digital affiliation and the on-campus research stay, you will actively contribute to the interdisciplinary dialogue at the Zukunftskolleg, e.g. during weekly Jour fixe meetings (in the semester).
• You will interact with fellows and researchers in relevant departments at the University of Konstanz.
• You will give a presentation in a seminar or a public lecture.
• You will acknowledge the Zukunftskolleg’s support in any publications resulting from the stay.
• You will write a short report on your activities and achievements (within 6 months of completing your
  ZUKOnnect Fellowship).
