Fully Funded to Germany : Apply for the 2024 DAAD Africa Scholarship Award

The goal of the DAAD Africa Scholarship is to assist young African refugees and national scholars in their academic qualifications and advancement in German higher education institutions.

The goal of the German government is to provide fully funded scholarships to eligible African students so they can complete their postgraduate studies in Germany.

Details of the DAAD Africa Scholarship:

The "Leadership for Africa" (LfA) initiative of the DAAD Africa Scholarship seeks to assist young refugees and national scholars from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Uganda in their academic qualification and advancement at higher education institutions in Germany.

This plan aims to support the education of future leaders, who will be crucial to the advancement of their home countries during times of conflict and displacement in many African nations.

Scholarships for Master's degrees in Germany are available from "Leadership for Africa" to eligible candidates in any subject of study, with the exception of medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, law, fine arts and architecture.

All recipients of the "Leadership for Africa" scholarship receive complimentary training in civil society, professional development, and good governance. In addition to the required coursework, the necessary programme needs to be finished.

You will receive free tuition, a living stipend of €11,208, free housing, travel expense reimbursement, and a separate stipend to support your dependents (spouse or children) if you are awarded the DAAD Africa Scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
completion of a Bachelor's degree successfully at the time of application, which satisfies German university standards for admission to a Master's programme.
It is necessary to have at least a second-class upper division bachelor's degree.
Generally speaking, the latest academic degree should have been completed no more than six years ago (see crucial information for scholarship applicants / Section A, point 2).
Good command of the English or German language
For refugees, a copy of their ID card that was issued before to April 3, 2023.
