Early-career academics conducting research in areas of interest to Google are encouraged to apply for support through the Google Research Scholar Programme. The Google Research Scholar Programme focuses on financing top-notch research carried out by early-career professors by offering unlimited donations to assist research at institutions all over the world.

Applications are sorted into areas of interest in computer science and related fields like algorithms, health research, human-computer interaction, machine learning, natural language processing, privacy, quantum computing, security, and software engineering by Google through an internal review process.
