Being a small university, Davidson is lucky to draw a bright and energetic application pool from which they accept about 530 students each year for their incoming class. Thanks to the kind donations from their friends and alumni, they are happy to be able to provide a small number of scholarships to about 4% of entering students. Prior to the announcement of Regular Decision admission choices, all scholarship winners and alternates are notified following the completion of the scholarship selection process in March.

As long as students maintain a specified grade point average, make progress towards their degree requirements, and actively engage in college life, all Davidson scholarships are renewable for the duration of the participant's remaining three years at Davidson.

The Davidson Admission Committee chooses recipients of the yearly, renewable Competition Scholarships for outstanding prospective students based on their leadership, service, talents, experiences, and strong applications. These recipients also contribute to the school's lively community.
