The People's Republic of China's Ministry of Commerce launched the MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Programme to foster talent development for developing nations and to improve communication and cooperation between China and other countries. Since 2015, young and middle-aged talent from recipient nations has mostly been financed by the MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Programme to pursue postgraduate degree study in China. The China Scholarship Council is in charge of overseeing the Scholarship.

A passport-sized photo, the MOFCOM/CSC application form, the applicant's current passport, the degree certificate, transcripts, language certifications, a research proposal, two letters of recommendation, the results of medical testing, a non-criminal document, and a curriculum vitae in the suggested Europass format are among the necessary materials.

A supervisor's letter of admission, published papers, accolades, accomplishments, and participation, experiences, internships, workshops, and any other pertinent experiences or internships are examples of additional documents.
